Punch needle workshop
We are hosting our first workshop in the shop together with our friend Brittney - the wizard behind Fibird!
Tickets are $100 and includes everything you need to make your own floppy poppy punch needle, as well as beverages and light snacks and even a shopping discount at the end of the night!
Where: At the shop - It Takes A Village at 3-564 Osborne Street, on the second floor. There is always lots of street parking available right out front and on streets close by!
When: Friday, October 18th from 6-9PM
What: In this 3 hour beginner level workshop you will learn how to colour with yarn using the Oxford Punch Needle! Workshop participants will complete a 10" wall hanging “Floppy Poppies”, designed and taught by Brittney of Fibird. We will use 100% wool, chunky rug yarn from Canadian company Briggs + Little Woolen Mills as the base. Then choose your own flower colours to add your own personal touch! Punch needle is easy to learn; with a few tips and tricks from Brittney you will quickly enjoy this unique art form!
Workshop Kit: 100% Canadian wool yarn, 10" Cloth wrapped wood frame with pre-drawn image. Students will borrow a #10 regular Oxford Punch Needle for the workshop; it is not a part of the kit. Punch needles, kits and cloth can be purchased through Brittney after the class if desired.
